To this day, this is probably my favorite record. Amanda Woodward (Myspace) was a French band, with members that went on to form the wonderful Aussitot Mort and Karysun, and is still the climax of the brilliant French Screamo sound. instrumentally they create an amazing atmosphere with twinkly guitars, a jazzy bass that holds its own and breathtaking vocals with political lyrics (or so I'm told, my french is horrid) tamed by thight drums to make it harmonious. I have allways kept a good eye on other French bands in the genre and have seen genious arrengements in it come and go, but still find that this single release tops them all. and that's saying a lot.

the band > the game. Duke Nukem Forever, from the US of A (Myspace), hits hard. throwing puns as quickly as the complete songs race by. random and ironic song titles with rawk ahn rawwl riffs make you wish the song would last more than 1:15 tops, but then again the brevity is the icing on the cake. 

I love me some powerviolence.

King Terror (Myspace) and Agathocles (Website), both from Hellgium, play superfast punk music that is based around tons of their social and political ethics. King Terror is a fresh band with ex-VUUR and ex SL27 members that plays a hardcore punk variant under the motto 'making hardcore punk again', while Agathocles is an antique band that plays self-proclaimed mincecore. which kinda maybe sounds like (gore)grind but distinguishes itself by the aforementioned ethics.

Light Bearer - Beyond The Infinite, Primum Movens, Lucifer's Monody

Light Bearer (Myspace), is a band from the UK with members from Fall Of Efrafa and Dungeons and is my first down-tempo music post.

awaiting this band's first release, I present to you a compilation of 3 of its songs.

like Fall Of Efrafa, this band is loosely based around a concept. this time around Lucifer, and his fall from heaven (I can't help but think of Deathspell Omega). I think it's safe to say you can compare Light Bearer to FoE's latest release, only with a lot more soundscapes and atmosphere, classical instruments and twinkly post-rock structures that build up to Alex CF's signature roar, accompanied by more profound guitar arrangements than his former band's post hardcore and epic crust style. this is like a logical sequel to that band, who I found to grow into a beter band with every step they took toward it's last album. 

Light Bearer's first release will be a 6-song double LP and may be even more to my likings than these people's previous musical projects, judging from what I've only heard so far.

The labels redirected to this, now defunct, Swedish band (Myspace), are usually what it takes for a band in the crust habitat to get my personal attention. usually, I then proceed by checking song for song with not too high expectations. what can I say, I find the majority in it to be very decent at best. only once in a full moon, I get acquinted with bands like this and GOD-DAMN that's the kind of band that rejuvenates my faith in music all-together! swamping with sociopolitical views I take to heart in combination with fleshripping melodies. the only flaw to this band is that it had a far too short lifespan or number of releases in that lifetime.

Birds In Row, from France, (Website) is no easy listening. Awkward to me, at first listen of previous releases, I now believe this band has molded the blueprint to its own sound 100% succesfully. dark and eerie sounding with surprising structures, this is no longer a band you can pick out what obvious bands you want to compare them with. too raunchy be 'just' a pawn in the breed of passionate hardcore bands and too heartful to be a mentioned beside straight-forward metalpunk, you need to hear it (all the way through), to believe it.

I Create - All We Are Is Now

'Merican band I Create (Myspace) is a though nut to crack. tempo's jumping from mid-tempo to downtempo in combination with emotionally tormented talking/whining/shouting vocals. sounds familiar? I find it hard to express how this band appeals to me, so greatly. the post-rock in combination with post-hardcore structure  with screaming thing has been done before, but I create brings more to the table. I get the feel I used to from classic down-tempo skramz bands in place of the melodic hardcore model that other bands in it adapt. nevermind my ranting. check for yourself, I recommend it to great extent.
